Pathways of Working Together
Methods I Draw From
My work is informed by Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, and parts informed therapy, approaches that help us work with deeper layers of experiences that live beyond words, and in the body.
Brainspotting
Developed by Dr. David Grand, Brainspotting is a simple yet powerful, body based therapy that works with the brain’s natural ability to process and heal. It is based on the idea that “where you look affects how you feel.”
Together, we find a specific point in your visual field, called a brainspot. This point is connected to areas of the brain that hold unprocessed experiences, emotional patterns, and nervous system responses. By maintaining this gentle visual focus the brain is able to process and integrate what has been held beneath the surface. Many people find this allows experiences to shift more directly and efficiently than through talking alone.
Brainspotting can help release tension, stress, and trauma that is stored in the body, often without needing to retell your entire story. It may be used as a primary approach or integrated with other therapeutic methods, depending on what feels most supportive to you.
Somatic Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing is a gentle, body-based approach developed by Dr. Peter Levine that supports the nervous system in recovering from stress, overwhelm, and trauma. Rather than focusing only on thoughts or memories, we also bring attention to what is happening in the body.
By slowing down and noticing physical sensations with care and curiosity, your nervous system is given space to release patterns of activation or shutdown that may have developed in response to past experiences. Over time, this can help your system move out of fight, flight, freeze, or collapse responses and return to a greater sense of balance, regulation, and ease.
Parts Informed Therapy
Parts-Informed Therapy is based on the understanding that we are all made up of many different inner parts that together form the whole of who we are. These parts may hold emotions, memories, sensations, or ways of responding that have developed over time.
At times, when we feel triggered, overwhelmed, or stuck, it can be an inner part responding, often shaped by earlier experiences. Rather than viewing these parts as problems, we invite curiosity and care, allowing space for what they may be carrying or needing.
In our work together, I invite the practice of gently noticing and listening, without rushing to label or interpret. This creates room for deeper understanding and softening to occur at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you.
When parts-based awareness is integrated with body-centered work, it can foster a greater sense of self-connection, clarity, and inner balance. Over time, old patterns may begin to loosen, making space for new ways of being rooted in safety, choice, and ease.
What to expect in a session
Sessions are designed to feel supportive, spacious and attuned to what your needing in the moment. There is no script you have to follow and no right way to show up.
We may begin by checking in, noticing what feels present for you in your body or in your life. Sometimes this looks like sharing what’s been on your mind. Other times it might be tuning into sensations, emotions, or subtle shifts in your body.
We move gently at a pace your nervous system can tolerate. You’re never asked to push through, relive, or explain more than feels safe. Instead, we invite curiosity about what your body and inner experience are communicating, and allow change to unfold naturally.
Some sessions may include quiet moments of noticing and settling. Others may include talking, reflecting, or using approaches like Brainspotting or somatic tracking. Each session is guided by what feels most supportive to you that day.
I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing.
